A manufacturing business based in Bridlington is currently recruiting for a Purchase ledger & Payroll Assistant to join their team. The successful Purchase ledger & Payroll Assistant will receive a competitive salary of up to £25,000, based on experience and qualification, as well as 28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), healthcare plan, death in service cover, and bonus scheme. This role also offers attractive working hours of Monday to Friday, 9am till 5pm, with some potential flexibility.

The Purchase ledger & Payroll Assistant is an ambassador of or vision and values, is enthusiastic and hardworking, with experience of purchase ledger and payroll preparation.

Key responsibilities of the Purchase ledger & Payroll Assistant will include:

- Purchase Ledger support and supplier maintenance
- Expense and costs control
- Wages and payroll analysis and reporting
- Work as part of a management accounts team to ensure the management accounts file and information packs are completed to tight deadlines
- Assist the team with Year-end audit file preparation in particular with the information relating to purchase ledger and hourly wages and headcount
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Overhead analysis
- Other ad hoc duties throughout the wider Finance Team

To be successful in this Purchase ledger & Payroll Assistant opportunity you must:

- Have previous experience in a similar finance position where you have had exposure to Management Accounts
- Excellent with IT and Microsoft Office knowledge, with ideally intermediate to advanced MS Excel experience (use of Pivot Tables, V-Look Ups, logical statements etc.)
- Have knowledge of using accountancy software such as Xero, Sage, Pegasus Opera etc. with the capability to be able to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Experience working with manufacturing or FMCG business would be viewed favourably, but is not essential

I would be keen to speak with individuals who are currently in an Purchase ledger & Payroll Assistant positions or a Junior/Trainee Accountant role, and are looking for a new challenge with progression.

I would also be eager to speak with those in Accountancy Practice, looking for their first move to industry, and those that are studying their AAT Level 3 or Level 4 or their ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification. You may also currently be a Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant looking for a sideways move with a new company or in a new industry.

Based in Bridlington, this role is easily commutable via car from Scarborough, Filey, Driffield, Hornsea, Cayton, Hunmanby, Beverley and surrounding areas, with parking available on-site.
