We are currently expanding our Receptionist team in Emergency Medicine at Ipswich Hospital and are looking to recruit professional, enthusiastic and reliable people to work as part of a team providing an efficient and effective reception service to patients and visitors.

You must be able to remain calm in a busy environment whilst being able to deal with distressed people. You should have excellent communication as you will frequently be the first point of contact and may be dealing with people who are in a distressed state.

You will work a rota covering a 24/7 service and will be required to work nights and weekends as well as days.

Booking and discharging patients in the Emergency Department onto the current Electronic Patient record system (Lorenzo). Accessing information from various record systems from our system partners (Ambulance/GP service for example)

Being one of the first points of contact for service users to our Emergency Department, receiving new patients and accompanying relatives/friends and answering initial questions

Ensure necessary documentation relating to a patient discharge has been completed (all reports filed and TTA received).

To maintain an up-to-date bed status using Lorenzo system, ensuring that expected dates of discharge are completed. Admitting and discharging patients to the system, ensuring that the system is accurate.
