Barnkids Nursery, Chiddingfold, is based in converted Barn buildings in a lovely part of Surrey. You will be responsible to your Nursery Manager who is supported by two Group Directors and an Area Manager. The strong culture of recognition and reward has been formed over the last 5 years, under the current ownership. We are looking for a deputy with exceptionally high standards who is just as passionate about early education as they are about investing in and developing their team. You will be self motivated and able to work closely with your manager to deliver in a thriving nursery where the children and the team are at the centre of everything we do.
Day to day you will be:
- Inspiring and motivating your team to provide excellent, consistent care for our children.
- Creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued, children, parents and the team alike.
- Develop strong relationships and bonds with your staff team providing support to room leaders and nursery practitioners using your experience and knowledge to help mentor them and guide their practice.
- Provide positive and constructive feedback to staff team using nursery experiences to help develop the strength of the team and communication.
- To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. To understand the requirements of the nursery and help where needed.
- To act as an ambassador for the nursery and maintain a positive image of its aims and objectives.
- To strive for excellence in all activities, encouraging reflection and continual improvement
Role Requirements
- You have experience as a room leader or deputy manager - ideally within an Outstanding Nursery - with exceptional knowledge of how children learn and develop
- You are structured and organised in your approach and drive tasks through to completion
- You have a strong desire to coach and mentor your team, helping them to build on their knowledge and skills
- You enjoy spending time out of the office, in the rooms with the children working with your team to identify improvements in quality and practice
- You believe in building and nurturing exceptional relationships with parents
- You are passionate, energetic and positive
- You would enjoy supporting other nurseries as and when is required
- Strong knowledge of SEN would be a bonus.
