**Role: Cleaner**

**Salary: £12.00 an hour**

**Location: Waterside, Londonderry**

**Contract/Hours: Permanent Part-Time, this can be 2 x 10-hour post or 1 x 20-hour post. Hours will be 6am to 10am, which include opening the centre, and doing a handover at the end of your shift, to the Manager.**

**A bit about the role**

Waterside Family Centre is suited to the local community they serve providing the best place to help families flourish offering a range of early intervention services including Crèche, group-based parenting programmes, after school and summer activities and therapeutic interventions for children and young people, on a group and individual basis.

**What you'll be doing**

**In the role of Cleaner, you'll be**:

- Cleaning premises, work, and service areas, as detailed in the cleaning schedule.
- Ensure cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, emptying of litter bins, polishing, and dusting are carried out in an efficient and organised manner.
- Record completion of tasks or other matters, ensuring issues of risk or concern are brought to the attention of the manager.
- Maintain management of stock supplies as necessary to complete work tasks.
- Be responsible for the safe use and storage of cleaning materials, in line with COSHH and Health & Safety at Work Regulations.
- Be responsible for opening and closing premises, ensuring that doors, windows and other areas of entry and exit are secured, including setting of alarms.

**What we need from you.**
- Previous experience of working on own initiative and taking responsibility for own work and knowing when to seek advice.
- Working to specific instructions and schedules.
- Experience of undertaking a range of cleaning duties
- Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations as they relate to the operation of cleaning equipment and the dilution of cleaning materials.
- Ability to safely utilise and store a range of workplace machinery as well as working with a wide range of cleaning materials, including chemicals.
- Ability to stand, walk, scrub, lift and carry sometimes in awkward positions.
