StokeonTrent, United Kingdom University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust Full time

The Genitourinary Radiology Services are based on a strong ethos of Quality Assurance, Audit, Evidence and Research. Areas of service improvement over the years include contrast enhanced ultrasound, radiology day case interventional procedures, expansion of the cancer intervention service, 3T body MRI scanning, and a static PET scanner.

The appointed Fellow will gain experience in the following subspecialty areas: Diagnostic imaging that includes (benign and oncology) US, CT and MRI, acute trauma and inpatient body CT imaging, and US & CT guided interventions, such as biopsies and drainages. Weekly training sessions in multimodality cross-sectional imaging, fluoroscopic studies and image guided procedures will be provided. There will be flexibility to accommodate individual interests and expertise, such as adrenal, gynaecological and pelvic imaging. The fellow is expected to prepare for and support Benign and Cancer MDT meetings.

There are extensive academic opportunities for Fellows. Involvement in audit and research is an expectation of the Fellowship program and one session per week is given as protected academic time.

There will be opportunities and funding to present research at regional, national and international meetings.

The University Hospital of North Midlands is a standalone training scheme (a part of West Midlands School of Radiology). We currently have 35 trainees. The on-call services are well supported by radiology trainees 24/7. A new faculty of Radiography opened at Keele University in September 2017. The fellow is not expected to cover on-call, but will be expected to contribute to Radiologist of the day, acute inpatient CT cover and extended seven day working on a rotational basis.

Research is a growing area of activity. A specialised research team within the department will help support research, studies and collaboration with other centres and the industry.

We are the number one ranked trauma unit in the country and a Clinical Fellow job here will provide great exposure to acute body radiology imaging.

The detailed job description and responsibilities can be found within the attached supporting documents.
