We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and proactive person to support our oncology dietetic service. An opportunity has arisen to join the team of over 30 dietitians in the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This post sits within a supportive dietetic department comprising of other Dietitians and Dietetic Support Workers. Leadership is provided by a Professional Lead, Team Manager and the Senior AHP Operational Manager.
The opportunity that we are offering is in the Oncology Team and will involve providing dietetic support to cancer patients, predominantly those with Head and Neck Cancer. We will support you within a friendly dietetic team as well as within the wider Head and Neck multi-disciplinary team and we will provide training to develop your skills and knowledge in this specialist area. You will be jointly responsible for a busy caseload of patients with Cancer who are at various stages of their treatment journey.
Our patients receive dietetic input in a variety of settings including on the ward, in dietetic led clinics and in multi-disciplinary team clinics.
The department places a strong emphasis on clinical supervision, training and education, including:
peer support and supervision
well established programme facilitating the training of dietetic students
delivery of a variety of rolling training programmes for other healthcare professionals across the Trust, relating to nutritional care
opportunities to participate in audit and research
development in leadership skills
The ability to transport yourself across the locality during the course of a working day is required.
