- Time role This is a part-time role
- 21 hours per week.

3 days initially reducing to 2 days after 6 months

Salary £13.50 per hour

Role Summary**:The Communities in rural Northumberland can sometimes feel isolated from the services and people at Northumberland County Council and other organizations. The presence of this role will help alleviate those feelings of disconnection and react quickly to issues that occur and provide information to the communities and NCC in a timely manner. They will be a voice for rural communities and be a conduit for information to ensure people who are in most need of help and support can access services and keep safe and well. They will help tackle rural inequalities and work in partnership with appropriate organizations to capture and focus on issues that affect rural communities.**

**Responsibilities**:

- **To promote co-ordination, partnership, information flow and joint problem solving.**
- **To provide a voice for our rural concerns to statutory organisations and the VCSE sector.**
- **Be a voice for NCC in rural areas**
- **Build on existing services and initiatives.**
- **Create local rural champions and advocates**
- **Promote the use of rural impact assessments/rural proofing on all policies and services affecting Northumberland.**
- **Work sensitively and be grounded in local people’s knowledge and experiences.**
- **Build a solid platform based around local community activities.**

Knowledge/Experience required:

- **Basic IT skills**
- **Professional and friendly manner**
- **Excellent communication skills**
- **Good attention to detail**
- **Excellent record keeping**
- **Personal experience of living in a rural area**
- **Good understanding of the geography of North Northumberland**
- **Excellent report writing skills**
- **Driving license plus regular access to a vehicle.**
- **The ability and experience of creating, developing and maintaining relationships across a wide variety of organisations.**

**All Staff are required to**:
