Service Care Solutions are looking for a PEG Technician to work within the London Fire Brigade on a 3-Month contract.

**Location**: Croydon

**Job Role/Responsibilities**:
To work as part of the Protective Equipment Group team in providing service and maintenance to the Brigade's various types of protective and compressed gas operated equipment, ensuring its operational standard and readiness.
- To maintain and service various protective and pneumatic operated equipment, using light engineering tools and equipment.
- To undertake the charging of compressed air cylinders and maintenance of OSG equipment at Croydon and at other satellite facilities located within the Greater London area.
- To undertake the movement, transport and carrying of equipment, as required, within the area covered by the Brigade.
- To ensure that current Brigade procedures and legislation regarding the maintenance of equipment is adhered to.
- To maintain and update records, both manual and computerised, relating to equipment and stores.
- To provide written reports and other information regarding equipment and stores for OSG management.
- To ensure the duties of the post are undertaken with due regard to the Brigade's policies on equalities, health, and safety, and with due regard to the LFB Togetherness Strategy.
- To ensure the Brigade policies and guidelines governing the use of Display Screen Equipment are adhered to.
- To undertake visits to other establishments within the area covered by the Brigade.
- To lift and carry items of equipment with due regard to health and safety guidelines.

**Experience**:
**Skills**:

- The ability to service and undertake repairs to items of equipment (including electrical and pneumatic equipment) using a range of specialist tools.
- Good written and oral communication skills to draft memos, notes and reports and to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.
- Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff both internally and externally ensuring high levels of customer care.
- Good organisational skills including the ability to plan and prioritise own work schedule and meet deadlines.
- Administrative and numerical skills to maintain records and file information accurately.
- The ability and physical fitness to carry and move safely items of equipment (e.g. 6Kg compressed air cylinders). (Training will be provided in safe use of handling and use of equipment).
