Here at Optima we are working with a well known automotive company based in Towcester who are looking for a **Project Manager**to join their vehicle testing team.

**Within this role you will be responsible for the following duties,**

- To oversee the vehicle co-ordination within the EMC laboratory testing activities and staff for a major OEM, whilst overseeing all vehicle bookings
- To discuss customers technical requirements and ensure test programmes are correct and delivered as agreed
- To be responsible for vehicle lab efficiency, ensuring labs and staff are utilised to their best capability
- To manage the project co-ordinator/s scheduling of labs to oversee and support the test bookings for vehicle OEMs
- To micromanage key customer accounts, ensuring customers are well informed of status updates and reports delivered in a timely manner
- To work directly with the technical manager and consultant on open issues with test plans, equipment and test methods that may affect testing
- Delegation or otherwise of test report reviews ensuring report deadlines are met
- To ensure that all staff have the necessary training appropriate to the testing they are required to carry out
- To implement the most efficient lab operations across 3 vehicle chambers on a day-to-day basis
- To liaise with customers on technical and administrative issues relating to test
- To advise test staff on project activities and deviations from scheduled tests
- To ensure test equipment and resources are available as appropriate to carry out testing to the required standards.
- To be responsible for customer projects and overall status
**Qualifications and experience**

The minimum qualifications for this position are Higher National Diploma in Electronic Engineering and a Prince 2 qualification or equivalent in a related field. Alternatively, a considerable level of experience (>2years) within the field of EMC or a testfacility within project management.

Minimum of two years exprience in an automotive or electrical environment.

A good telephone manner is required with at least one year's experience of customer contact at contractual and technical level.

Proven man management skills are necessary; the individual shall have at least one year's experience with employees reporting to them.

The ability to schedule tasks and ensure that staff, equipment and facilities are available to allow work to be completed on time must be demonstrated.
