**Buckinghamshire Council Residential Services are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity. We are now hiring a new Head of Home for our 19 bed Residential Children’s Home in High Wycombe.**

**As a Home Manager you will form part of the existing Children’s Home Team and will care for young people with a range of diverse emotional needs. For this role you will be registered with Ofsted which requires you to collaborate with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.**

**About the role**:
**Main Responsibilities and Duties**:

- To work closely with the Head of Service and management team in order to develop the service,
- To supervise managerial and senior residential social work staff, taking responsibility for standards of professional practice and levels of performance and ensuring that good practice is maintained.
- To represent the service and the council as required at external events requiring residential care expertise as well as taking part in any relevant internal working groups, panels or projects requiring service input.
- To take responsibility for financial management of resources allocated to the team, to monitor budgets and ensure accurate end of year forecasts are provided, reporting variances to the Head of Service as necessary.
- To contribute to the preparation of briefing papers for staff in respect of new policies or legislation concerning the work of the Children and Families service area in general and residential care in particular
- To maintain a current and thorough knowledge of the legislation, regulations and Departmental procedures relating to the work of the position and related Children and Families’ Services.

**About you**:
**Requirements for Head of Home**:

- Recent or previous managerial experience in an OFSTED regulated Children’s Residential establishment.
- Must possess Level 5 Diploma in Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent or commitment to work towards this qualification.
- Experience of contributing to policy and practice development within Children & Family services.
- Ability to ensure sound performance management based on robust business plans and clear objectives.
- Ability in financial management sufficient to develop and monitor budgets and forecast year end position.
