Early Intervention in Psychosis Peer Support Worker

ADMINISTRATIVE Undertake appropriate administrative duties to assist the team in delivering effective and timely care, e.g. data inputting, safeguard, filing, computer work, faxing, photo-copying, updating patient records. CLINICAL To work in collaboration with other organisations and colleagues involved in the delivery of care. Co-Producing and Supporting / delivering interventions within EIP.
Participate in meetings with service users to promote coproduction and ensure we hear the voice of patients in service development and delivery. Work within the Trusts clinical supervision guidelines. COMMUNICATION AND LIAISON To share ideas about ways of achieving Recovery goals, drawing on personal experiences and a range of coping, self-help and self-management techniques. To promote education, training and employment as Recovery goal options for Mental Health Service Users To actively participate in Team Meetings and report regularly to the Service Manager to ensure effective communication To sign-post to various resources, opportunities and activities within the Trust and in communities to promote choice and informed decision making ANALYSIS AND JUDGEMENT To raise awareness of recovery language among Trust staff by modelling positive, strengths based, non-discriminatory working, and through avoiding the use of labels and non-jargon, non-medical jargon in all areas of work.
To model personal responsibility, self-awareness, self-belief, self-advocacy and hopefulness. Act on own initiative when assisting Service Users in developing their own recovery plans and advance statements but act within limits of their competences and authorities and to seek advice and guidance when required. PLANNING AND ORGANISATION To assist others to create their own Recovery plans and develop advance statements To sign-post to various resources, opportunities and activities within the Trust and in communities to promote choice and informed decision making PHYSICAL SKILLS This is a support role which will require a range of activities, including carrying out work at a pc /work station, meeting attendance and general walking whilst undertaking the tasks. This post will frequently work at a highly complex level which requires the Post Holder to both concentrate for long periods of the working day and work within a highly unpredictable environment (working closely with Adult Mental Health Service Users)
