Estimator/buyer

**Do you come from an Engineering Procurement environment?**

**Do you have experience of working with MRP generated PO’s as well as stand-alone requisitions?**

If so, we have an exciting opportunity in Sandwich for an Estimator/Buyer to work for one of our clients who is a leading engineering instrument manufacturer.

In this role you would be working on a full-time, permanent basis. Our client is offering a competitive salary, depending on experience.

**As the Estimator/Buyer your responsibilities would include**:

- Communicate with suppliers and internal customers to obtain quotations with suitable breakdown of costs.
- Raising of Purchase Orders, and Purchase Requisitions.
- Generation of RFIs and RFQs including cost breakdown format.
- Creation of manufacturing estimates for sales and engineering teams.
- Liaison with quality department on vendor performance.
- Resolution of Invoice queries.
- Liaising with new suppliers to obtain information relating to price, delivery, and capability.
- Preparation of Purchasing Reports.
- Analysis of quotations and preparation of comparative analysis.
- Provide data to enable accurate and regular supplier performance monitoring.
- Order progression.
- Import clearance.
- Other duties as deemed reasonable

**Person Specification**:

- Experience within an Engineering Procurement environment.
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent negotiating skills are required.
- Must possess sound Commercial awareness
- Knowledge of, or exposure to, engineering terminology and methodology.
- Knowledge of, or exposure to, multiple process operations.
- Knowledge of working with MRP generated PO’s as well as stand-alone Requisitions
- Customer / quality focused
- Outcome / solution focused
