**About us**

North Air is responsible for providing into-plane refuelling and storage services on behalf of major oil companies. We aim to provide safe, reliable, and efficient into-plane services to our customers' satisfaction Based at 20 locations across the UK, we carry out approximately 300 000 fuelling per year, in addition to plant and vehicle maintenance for our sites.

**Job Purpose**

We are pleased to be recruiting for an Airfield Operator to join our Prestwick team.

An Airfield Operator is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day refuelling and operational tasks safely, effectively and efficiently.

Depending on the location the Operator may be ultimately responsible for receipt of fuel into storage, monitoring and managing the day-to-day storage and handling procedures, the loading of refuelling vehicles and the refuelling of all aircraft.

Starting salary for this role is £30,490 per annum which will increase to £35,871 per annum on successful completion of the training programme and/or your probationary period, in line with company policy.

There will also be a shift allowance of £4,360 per annum, paid in 12 monthly instalments for working a rotational shift pattern. The shift pattern on site includes weekends and night shift working.

**Key Areas of Responsibility**

**Operations**:
The Operator is responsible to perform all tasks in accordance with the site Operating Standards, Safety Management System (SMS) & JIG. The Operator will operate sophisticated, high cost mobile and fixed equipment in carrying out these tasks.

At a typical airport, these basic operating tasks are, but not limited to
- Fuel receipt
- Storage and handling
- Preventative Maintenance
- Fuelling vehicle loading
- Driving
- Product Quality
- Aircraft refuelling

**Health and Safety**:

- The Operator must be HSSE minded and work safely at all times
- The Operator must be fully conversant and comply with all Company and Legislated HSE requirements
- The Operator must strictly adhere to the company rules and Safety Management system (SMS)
- All unsafe acts, conditions and safety incidents must be reported in line with company policy

**Product Quality**:
The Operator is required to perform tasks critical to the Quality Assurance System and shall be fully trained in such tasks and nominated as an approved Product Quality Inspector.

Critical tasks include, but may not be limited to:

- Checking the documentation on incoming consignments
- Visual inspection and control checks on incoming material, including the checking of seals on vehicles if present
- Sampling of aviation products
- Maintaining records of stock/quality/equipment checks as appropriate

**Fixed and Mobile Plant Maintenance**:
At the direction of the Depot Manager or the Duty Supervisor, the Operator will carry out such tasks as are necessary in the day to day running of the facility.

These include but are not limited to:

- Equipment maintenance
- Miscellaneous tasks within the Depot
- Cleaning of fixed and mobile equipment
- General housekeeping tasks

This list may not be exhaustive and post holders may be expected to carry out other activities as identified by the company.

**Skills and Experience**

**Essential**
- Health and Safety Awareness
- Demonstrable Literacy and Numeracy Skills

**Desirable**
- Previous Refuelling Experience
- Plant & Maintenance Experience

**Qualifications**

**Essential**
- HGV C+E Driving License (HGV Class 1)
