**Procurement Officer - Leading Public Sector Organisation - £35k per annum**

A leading Public Sector organisation is currently recruiting for a Procurement Officer to join its well established team. This is a forward thinking, progressive organisation who will help you grow within your role.

**Some of your responsibilities**
- Ensure all tender processes are completed in accordance with local and UK Procurement legislation
- Responsible for accruing and assimilating records to create management information to ensure continuous improvement
- Maintain efficient working procedures with the Procurement Section to cover all aspects of the day to day procurement tasks
- Prepare contract documents for high value, complex portfolio of goods and services, ready to consult with internal stakeholders
- Establish category strategies with key stakeholders to ensure that a sustainable commercial strategy is in place
- Lead project groups through tenders and ensure that strong specifications, clear evaluation processes and contract management structures are put in place
- Prepare and submit detailed recommendations for contract award to Senior Officers
- Prepare financial analysis and forecasts of future and current expenditure on contracts to ensure costs and savings are within budgetary constraints
- Participate in face to face contract negotiations with suppliers to ensure best value is achieved
- Deputise in the absence of Senior Procurement Officers
- Provide specialist advice as a commercial advisor on supply markets and guidance pertaining to UK Procurement legislation

**To be successful in this role**
- Minimum of 1 year in a similar role (preferably Public Sector)
- Committed be MCIPS qualification
- Strong stakeholders relationships skills
- Strong commercial awareness and demonstrate an understanding of how markets operate
