**Your new company**
Liverpool City Council's award winning and well established Procurement division with an excellent reputation in the market. The Council have a new and exciting Senior Category Manager opportunity available within their team to manage the Construction, Highways,and Regeneration category.
**Your new role**
The Senior Category Manager is an exciting mix of both strategic and operational procurement and leading a high performing team of Category Managers. Specialising in the Highways, Construction & Regeneration category, you will take ownership of the overallcategory strategy and its delivery, as well as managing, leading and influencing spend within this category area.
Using your category expertise, you will strive to identify and deliver cost savings and efficiencies within this category and aim to deliver optimal value for money for Liverpool City Council. The Senior Category Manager will proactively engage with and maintainsolid commercial relationships with key stakeholders, which will help maximise the value that LCC receive from these relationships.
Operating at a senior level, you will ensure that all procurement activity within your team adheres to public contract regulations and OJEU guidelines.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Extensive experience working within public-sector procurement
- Good knowledge of PCR2015
- Relevant category expertise within Construction & Highways from within the public sector
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ideally you will be MCIPS qualified
