Accountant / Management Accountant

The Company:
Holistic Community Care is the lead company in a group of companies operating in the domiciliary/homecare sector, where trained carers attend to the needs of older and disabled people in their own homes. Holistic is one of the most well-established homecare companies in the UK. It currently provides thousands of hours’ worth of care on a weekly basis to several local authorities and private clients in London and the South-East.

A position for an Accountant / Management Accountant has emerged in the Clapham headquarters of this well-established and expanding domiciliary care agency.

Accountant / Management Accountant - Job Description:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accountant/Management Accountant to join this rapidly expanding group of companies in the homecare sector.

Working closely with the Directors and senior client-facing staff, the Accountant/Management Accountant will act as a trusted business partner to support the group’s commercial operations. You will be responsible for:
- all statutory, accounting and financial reporting within the business
- producing monthly management accounts
- annual statutory accounts
- bookkeeping
- invoicing
- processing fortnightly and monthly payroll
- accounts payable/receivable.
You will take ownership of the relationship with the bank and with clients/local authorities.

You will be responsible for the preparation and tracking of the annual budget and will provide valued input into the appraisal of new business opportunities, existing contracts and costings for tenders.

You will review and continuously improve the processes and controls and supervise the work of the existing Finance staff.

You will deliver greater transparency of accounting and make recommendations in order to increase efficiency/profitability of services. You will also establish financial KPIs to support the development of strategic plans by determining cost and revenue drivers for the business.

You may be AAT-qualified with strong bookkeeping experience, or part-CIMA/ACCA qualified, with some Post Qualification Experience. You will have excellent Excel skills and a good working knowledge of Outlook and Word. Familiarity with the Sage Accountant and Sage Payroll packages is desirable.

At least two years’ experience in a similar level of seniority is required - Experience in the homecare sector is preferred, as is familiarity with software packages used in the homecare sector, such as CM2000. However, such experience is not essential.

Accountant / Management Accountant - PROFILE:

- Fluent English (both written and spoken)
- Previous office experience within a busy company
- Intermediate level or above Microsoft Offices skills, including Word and Excel
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player and a joy to work with
- Excellent telephone manner
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to multi-task
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and take direction
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Ability to be predominantly office-based

Accountant / Management Accountant - BENEFITS:

- £30,000-£45,000, depending on skills and experience
