**About the School**

This school is a large two form entry school that covers Nursery - Year 6 with an excellent team of staff. They school provide a safe, secure and engaging environment and all the children have a clear understanding of their rights and responsibilities. Thestaff at the school strive for success with confident, caring and lifelong learners who develop into responsible members of the world community. The school were recently inspected by Ofsted and were graded 'good' in all areas. They were praised for the happinessof the pupils and their excitement and enjoyment for learning. The school cater well for children with additional needs and pupils achieve the high expectations that staff set of them.

**Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities**
- Facilitate the smooth transition between Reception and Year 1
- Build positive working relationships with students
- Create a safe, secure and engaging classroom environment for students
- Uphold all school policies including behaviour and safeguarding
- Continually assess children to fill any gaps in learning
- Prepare for and administer the Phonics Screening Check
- Work closely with peer teachers to ensure consistency throughout the year group
- Provide feedback to parents and carers through school reports and parents evenings
- Make effective use of ICT in the classroom to enhance teaching and learning
- Work with school leaders and specialists to create IEP's for children with additional needs
- Be actively involved in the wider life of the school by participating in events, trips and extra-curricular activities

**Year 1 Teacher Essential Requirements**
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status in the UK
- Recent experience in KS1 is desirable
- Provide a CV covering full employment history covering any gaps
- Provide professional references to support teaching experience
