**About the Service - Housing & Homelessness Services**

A safe home is the solid base from which you build your life. We support people who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless, as well as providing specialist accommodation and outreach services for rough sleepers, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, women and young people.

Accommodation to us doesn’t just mean a roof over your head and shelter from the elements. It needs to be a welcoming and flourishing environment, offering opportunities for all those we support to feel comfortable and develop. You can make a difference and support people on their journey towards a brighter future. At Changing Lives, we offer a home rather than just a shelter.

**About the Job**

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us at Hedley House. You will support young people aged 16- 21 years old, who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless.

The young people we support come from a wide range of backgrounds and we are looking for staff who are able to offer a safe, supportive and friendly environment, while supporting the young people to develop their life skills so that they can live independently, enabling them to build a positive future. The post holder will be expected to display strong team spirit, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with external agencies and professionals.

We understand that the people we support can experience vulnerabilities that are specific to young people. Including childhood abuse, domestic abuse, neglect and exploitation.These are common features in the lives of the young people we support, which impacts on their health and wellbeing. Underpinning all our services is an in-depth understanding of trauma and a focus on recovery, resilience and community integration.

The shift pattern would entail 3 nights on shift and 3 nights off shift. Working times vary from 20:00 to 08:00,including some weekends.
