To provide a point of contact, reception service for dental patients and act as a communication link between patients and dental clinical staff.

To ensure that high standards of patient care are maintained at all times and that the dental team is fully supported.

To work within the guidance of SBUHB Values
- To schedule appointments for patients and subsequent appointments If and when necessary.
- To issue appropriate NHS dental forms to patients starting or completing treatment and to ensure the patient receives adequate support to complete the paperwork promptly and accurately.
- To deal with enquiries from the dental team as and when they occur and ensure that follow up actions from their enquiries are completed within the given timescale.
- To receive patients and other visitors to the dental unit.
- To provide reception duties, ensuring that all communication with patients, carers and staff is always undertaken in a courteous and helpful manner.
- To liaise with GP/Dental practices regarding patient demographic information.
- To ensure that all handover documentation is read and completed accurately.
- To liaise with consultants and medical secretaries re: prioritisation of outpatient referrals.
- The accurate booking of appointments into the appropriate clinics.
- Requesting and printing appropriate letters to patients including relevant information literature.
- Printing appropriate clinic lists.
- To collect patient NHS dental charges for emergency treatments or completed courses of treatment and ensure these payments are documented efficiently and accurately.
- To work in a busy, sometimes stressful environment.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
