Introduction

An exciting position has arisen to become part of the Heligan Home Farm team. Join us as we move forwards with an exciting new phase combining regenerative agriculture practices with our conservation breeding programme of some of the rarest breeds of livestock in the UK. You will be working with our on-site vet/farm manager and our grazing/ecological lead who together with the wider team are helping to steer Heligan into an exciting new era.
- experience with a range of livestock, large and small
- experience/interest in regenerative farming techniques
- proficiency in tractor driving
- common sense, initiative and a good sense of humour
- confidence in engaging with our visitors

You must:

- hold a full UK driving license
- be confident with (or be willing to undertake training for) trailer work
- be comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- be equally happy working as part of a team and as an individual

Job responsibilities include:

- daily animal health checks and feeding
- mucking out and bedding up
- partaking in animal management procedures (vaccinations, weighing, worming etc)
- carrying out our regenerative grazing plan
- farm and estate maintenance
- lambing and calving duties (training given)
- assisting the team with livestock events

Other

You will be required to work every other weekend, with the adjacent Friday and Monday as your days off.

Some flexibility is required to cover large events, stock emergencies, team holidays and busy periods (lambing, harvest etc).
