Trainee/junior Picture Specialist

Tennants is one of the UK’s largest and busiest Fine Art Auctioneers with 27 specialist departments, holding more than 80 sales each year.

This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic Pictures Department, working alongside three specialists, across Traditional and Modern & Contemporary Art. You will be supporting the specialists with all aspects of administration and logistics.

You must have a demonstrable interest in Art, Art History or similar and ideally you will already have some experience of the auction’s world, or a similar working environment. You must be confident communicating with the public at all levels, be able to work quickly and accurately to tight deadlines and have first class administration skills. It is envisaged that the role will grow in the short term to include cataloguing pictures, with further progression as part of a genuine career path with one of the country’s most respected salerooms.

This is a full time, permanent role working 8.30am-5pm and Saturdays on a sale day, on a rota basis, based at our salerooms in Leyburn, North Yorkshire.
