**Location;**Whetstone, Leicestershire

An established company in Whetstone are seeking an Events Manager to join their existing team. You’ll be an essential part of the business attending events at various locations in the UK.

The objective of the Events Manager is to manage the execution of our extensive yearly events programme on University campuses, ensuring that sales targets are met and revenues maximised whilst ensuring optimal profit in all areas. You will be responsiblefor managing a small team, you will direct the preparation, co-ordination and implementation of our events from start to finish; ranging from initial contractual meetings, logistics planning, marketing and production.

**The Events Manager Role**
- Negotiating contracts with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure the best financial outcome, in line with budgets and deliverable dates
- Checking and authorising contracts with stakeholders for events to ensure they are booked and contracted in advance
- Booking event logistics (Van Hire, Hotels etc.) in line with department budgets and requirements
- Manage the events timetable and ensuring this is completed in a timely and effective manner
- Complete bookings, scheduling and training to ensure the department performs to full capacity
- Optimise the profitability of the department by supporting the selection of title ranges/items to ensure suitability for the target audience thus increasing profitability
- Plan, develop, produce and deliver a variety of marketing and communication materials suitable for our target audience
- Manage the development, production and distribution of promotional print and digital collateral materials
- Support and operate within the warehouse to ensure that all elements related to the campus events program are operating at full capacity
- Develop an excellent knowledge of products and an understanding of all operations within the department and be prepared to operate within any area
- Be actively involved in the recruitment, training and management of part time staff related to the campus events program
- Develop and oversee the communications calendar to ensure timely execution of the campus events program and any other suitable events
- Participate in budget development and support the overall departmental budget
- Prepare written materials including marketing copy, business communications, reports and presentation scripts
- Analyse marketing and communication trends within the target audience to make recommendations to adjust strategy and improve effectiveness
- Educated to degree level, ideally in Events Management or Marketing
- Experience of events logistics, planning and delivery
- Previous experience of managing and supervising others
- Be able to work independently and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders
- Excellent organisational and office skills
- Highly IT proficient including management of spreadsheets and databases
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience of UK Universities/Students Unions desirable
- Experience of business social media and marketing
- A background in retail or warehousing and able to demonstrate experience of sales and decision making
- A full UK driving licence is essential
