**Job Description**:
SLR are looking for graduate or project Ecologists to join our highly successful and expanding team to work on a wide variety of ornithological surveys and deliver the associated analysis and report writing.

These roles would be suited to a remote worker or someone based near our offices (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling). We are looking for applicants that live in Central Scotland ideally.

**THE ROLE**:
The role will involve assisting with field surveys and mitigation projects, e.g., relating to ornithology, protected/notable mammals and habitats. You may also be involved in herpetofauna, fish habitat and invertebrate surveys. Due to the Duties will suit your career ambitions and skills and may include some of the following:

- Assisting with and delivering ecological surveys for a range of fauna, including birds, otter, pine marten, badger, red squirrel, water vole, wildcat and badger, bats etc.
- Assisting with and delivering habitat surveys, e.g., UK Hab surveys or similar.
- Keeping accurate field notes in accordance with the principles of scientific data collection, with experience in handling, recording and storing data effectively.
- Having a good understanding of wildlife legislation and being able to communicate this clearly to colleagues, clients and contractors.

**ABOUT YOU**:
If you are interested, and hold a full UK driving licence, we would love to hear from you. In order to succeed, we'd envisage that you would be able to demonstrate:

- A BSc Ecology, Biological Science or equivalent (MSc desirable).
- A good theoretical grounding in ecology and environmental assessment.
- Protected /notable species survey experience of relevance to Scotland.
- Ornithological, botanical, terrestrial or freshwater fauna surveys
