Librarian

We are looking for a Campus Librarian to join our growing team in Aberdeen. If you would like to work in a friendly university library, then this could just be the job for you.

**Responsibilities**
- Manage, supervise and train the campus library staff and any student assistants
- Assist the Library Services Lead in managing and monitoring the campus library budget
- Staff the library counter including Issuing and discharging loans, reservations etc
- Using University Library Management System
- Basic IT support for all library users
- Advise, support and archiving for research staff including search engines and MESH searches
- Provide guidance and help for library users accessing print and electronic resources, and participate in promoting library services and collections
- Process Inter-Library Loan requests, and maintain accurate records and statistics
- Gather and record statistics and other library management information for monitoring
purposes
- Cataloguing and classification of library stock (e.g. using AACR2, MARC21 and DDC)
- Ensure that guidance and help is available and given to library users by the provision of
printed and electronic information, training and assistance and other appropriate
means
- Facilitate access to electronic resources and to assist in maintaining and contributing
to the Library’s website

**Person Specification**
- Degree or Postgrad in Library and Information Studies
- Cataloguing to AACR2 and MARC standards, classifying to DDC22
- Administrator-level knowledge and experience with an Integrated Library System
