Sheffield, United Kingdom Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An opportunity has arisen for two new assistant role supporting the Advanced Clinical Practice Therapeutic Radiographers within Weston Park Cancer Centre. This modern department treats cancer patients both as inpatients and outpatients.

This role supports a team of radiotherapy professionals to deliver high quality care to nearly 4,000 new patients a year.

The role is varied and the postholder will be expected to be able to support ACP clinics on various sites, undertake some face to face and telephone contact with cancer patients and be given training to undertake some clinical care tasks.

The role also includes some administration work involving clinical data as well as providing some cover for the admin support already in post.

The post holders will contribute to the organisation and delivery of the Advanced Clinical Practitioner service (Radiotherapy) providing clinical and administrative and organisational support to the team.

This role is that of an assistant to the Advanced Clinical practitioner team. As such direction will be given from the registered staff in the team. However, once competencies are reached the expectation is that the assistant will be able to undertake defined roles independently. Care may be delivered on a number of hospital sites.

Contribute to a high quality, responsive radiotherapy service as part of a multi-disciplinary team, whilst maintaining a high standard of patient care.

Ensure that safe practice is carried out in accordance with departmental protocols.

Assist with the smooth running of the ACP service interacting with the patient at several points in the pathway and assisting the Advanced clinical practitioners.

Acquire and maintain a good level of skill and knowledge, in defined aspects of radiotherapy.

Comply with the policies and procedures of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust.

You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves.
