**About the Company**

My client is a Tier One Main Contractor who operate in the Civils and Infrastructure sector.

They mainly deliver infrastructure schemes, to enable industrial, commercial and housing developments, rail projects - including Strategic Rail Freight Interchanges (SRFIs) - and bridging and tunnel structures. They have extensive experience of complex highways projects, including bypass creation, roundabout construction and reconfiguring motorway junctions. They turnover £1B a year and their clients include Highways England, Lincolnshire County Council. They delivered their first National Highways project last year and have a very solid reputation in the industry. They will also be moving into the Rail sector over the coming years.

**About the opportunity**

Liaising with the tender team to establish the build sequence and earthworks strategy for each tender, then preparing tender programmes and graphics to suit, plus pricing preliminaries. Attending tender interviews as required including input into presentations. The development of Contract, Construction and Design & Procurement programme. The preparation of sequence graphics for live projects, including detailed Sub-Contract information. Regular site visits to monitor progress against the Contract programme and attendance at meetings as necessary. Assessment of the programme impact of variations where necessary. The preparation of Completion Programmes.

They are looking for a highly skilled and independent planner to join the team as part of the Highways division. You will be working on projects all over the UK but primarily on the East side of the country and in Manchester. The role will be based out of the Wakefield office and will also be required to travel down to the Northampton office a couple of times a week. Your expenses for this will be covered. You will need to be adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be given drawings and will need to be able to read these drawings and create programmes from them. Works will include Bridge Maintenance, waterproofing and structural repairs to Highways.

**Rewards and Benefits**

You will be rewarded with a very competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 + a car allowance or company car.

**Requirements**:
An industry applicable ONC/HNC B Eng, NVQ or equivalent experience.

Demonstration of construction knowledge and the planning of construction activities on multiple projects of varying types.

Computer literate with experience of planning software - preferably Asta Powerproject - and a good working knowledge of other software, such as Excel and PowerPoint.

You will be an ambitious individual, take pride in what you produce, and have good attention to detail, communication, organisation and leadership skills, and strong customer focus and customer service skills.

You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC) in a Construction, Civils, Business of equivalent qualification.

It’s important to have experience working within civil engineering as a planner or an Estimator and to show good long-term stability at the companies you have worked for (1-3 years per company you’ve worked for)

You’ll also need a full UK driver’s license to allow to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require to visit.

**Salary**: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
