Gym Instructor/team Member

**Hours of work**: 37 hours per week, to include early mornings, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays where required and agreed

**Holiday entitlement**:Pro rota 28 days including Bank Holidays (Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day to be taken as holiday)

**Disclosure level**:Enhanced DBS

**Purpose of the job**:

- To assist with the effective, efficient management and day-to-day operation of the WSCC, including the gym, changing rooms, function rooms and MUGA.
- To assist the manager of the WSCC in delivering a high-quality service of sports, fitness and community facilities based on the identified needs of the local community
- To contribute to the marketing and business development activity of the WSCC
- To Carry out Gym Inductions and Programmes to new/current members. Ensuring the customer is safe and confident within the facility.

**Specific responsibilities**:
**Staffing**
- To work with the management team to ensure that the WSCC is adequately and safely staffed and supervised at all times.
- To work with the manager to ensure adequate levels of cover during opening hours. This may involve standing in at short notice for absent staff if necessary.

**Bookings and marketing**
- Take bookings for the MUGA, function rooms and classes using, and ensure all documentation is in place for those bookings.
- To help to devise an attractive programme of classes and activities, set up timetables and respond to customer feedback on which services would be most popular.
- To lead classes and group training sessions as agreed with the manager.

**Financial resources**
- To be responsible for Daily money received from paying customers and to ensure all payments are counted, recorded and banked according to policy.
- To assist the management team with the preparation of financial reports, ordering stock and maintaining records of occupancy statistics as required.

**Day to day management**
- To open and close the WSCC as required, ensuring the safety and security of the premises at all times.
- To be a keyholder for the WSCC and a contact in case of emergency.
- To carry out regular inspections to ensure all equipment, furnishings, fixtures etc are present and fit for purpose.
- To bring any requirements for repair or replacement of equipment or stock (eg cleaning supplies) to the attention of the manager.
- To supervise and/or carry out the cleaning of the WSCC to ensure that the premises are maintained to a high level of cleanliness at all times.

**Customer service**

At all times:

- To ensure all users of the gym undergo appropriate induction and are aware of the WSCC rules and emergency plan.
- To ensure that any accidents or safety incidents are fully documented and reported to the directors in line with WSCC policy.
- To deal politely and assertively with all enquiries and any complaints. Make note of customer feedback, report issues and make suggestions for improvements to the management team as necessary.
- To liaise with customers in a friendly, professional manner at all times.
