Depot Manager

We are currently seeking a Depot Manager for Boston distribution depot of one of our long standing clients. The role involves working closely with management, back-office support staff and team supervisors to ensure the effective daily running of depot operations.

The Depot Manager will be accountable for effectively managing product ordering, customer queries, staff rota planning and the timely completion of customer deliveries.

**Core Responsibilities**:

- To recruit, induct, train and supervise dispatch and delivery staff and to ensure that company policies are adhered to (specifically in relation to recruitment, food safety, health and safety and customer payments).
- To ensure that staff rotas are carefully planned against each delivery round and that customer service levels and effectively maintained, through efficient distribution.
- To address inbound customer queries related to complaints, ordering and sales enquiries.
- To escalate staff and customer issues to the Regional Manager, for review and consideration, as required.
- To address any administrative matters related to customer ordering, supply planning, depot stock conciliation and product wastage.
- To ensure that service levels are maintained in line with customer requirements, to deal promptly and effectively with customer complaints in accordance with company procedures.
- To ensure the commitment set out in the Company Food Safety and Quality Policy is responsibly implemented within the business operations.

**Key Requirements**:

- The job holder should ideally have prior management / supervisory experience in a retail, distribution, manufacturing related environment.
- Good supervision and planning skills
- Numerate and accurate and very proficient in Microsoft, particularly Excel.
- Skilled in handling customer issues in a sensitive and professional manner
- Good communication skills; both written and verbal.
- Able to communicate clearly and motivate all Depot employees.

**Working Pattern**
- Hours : core between 7.30 AM - 3.30 PM being flexible on availability
- Days : 40 hours weekly Monday - Saturday, with alternate Thursdays/Saturdays off.
