Trinity House Group are supporting a Birmingham City Centre based business (stunning location) to recruit a high calibre Financial Controller.
Reporting to and working closely with an impressive Finance Director you will need gravitas to work closely with stakeholders at all levels throughout the group to build the profile of the finance function. You’ll be the number 2 in finance with full responsibilityfor the day to day finance function, have the ability & desire to be hands on and support the design & implementation of controls & processes to encourage best practice.
As a natural leader you will provide support & mentor the team promoting best in class service.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands on, innovative, career minded experienced Financial Controller who is looking to have more of a say in how the finance function operates.
**The Role**:
- Oversight and responsibility for the monthly management accounts process including review of the monthly results, analysis and communication of monthly financial performance to key management including analysis of budget compared to actual costs, with commentary
- Promote continual improvement to ensure high quality processes / controls / reporting standards
- Support / lead value add projects eg system upgrade
- Responsibility to lead and develop the team and promote best in class service to the business
- Take ownership of the financial control environment ensuring reporting is robust, accurate and in-line with reporting standards.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of data across the wider business.
- Lead and be POC for external audit process
**You will be / have;**
- Qualified accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA
- 2-3 years PQE ideally within multi-site / retail / wholesale / FMCG sector
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Enjoy problem solving
- Experienced Leader / mentor and enjoy developing individuals
- Ability & desire to be hands on
- Strong attention to detail
