We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person with great attention to detail to join our Complex Care and Named Patient Service, as a Mental Health NHS Contracts and Quality Lead.

Applicants should have experience and knowledge in the delivery of high standards of patient care, possess excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills with the ability to deliver highly sensitive information to a range of different stakeholders. You will be working with a wide range of agencies, including both NHS, statutory bodies and private providers and will have close links into the Somerset NHS Foundation Trust Funding Panels.

You will be a key member of an established team who commission mental health services which cannot be provided by Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. Your role will be an integral part of monitoring and promoting the commissioning of high quality services.

You will be required to have access to private transport, and be willing to travel to a variety of specialist services across the country, with occasional overnight stays to ensure the thorough completion of Quality Assurance visits. Travel and expenses are paid for.

The hours are typically worked Monday - Friday with flexible and compressed hours considered.

**The post is divided into 3 main areas**: Quality Assurance, Mental Health NHS Contracts and the Into Somerset Placement Service (ISP).

To lead and deliver on the Quality Assurance agenda and NHS Mental Health Contracts agenda for the Complex Care and Named Patient Service. To be responsible for the development and implementation of the QA agenda and, the development and issuing of NHS contracts to providers of Somerset Mental health Patients for this service, ensuring the delivery of high standards of patient care considering the Financial Best Value Framework.

To be the initial point of contact for ISP when the Deputy Named Patient Manager is unavailable, for referral, Panel and policy/process queries. To develop and maintain Master Into Somerset Placement spreadsheets and recording systems, and support ongoing review of this service.

To have a lead role in the development of quality assurance processes for patients placed into provisions commissioned through the Complex Cases Panel, in conjunction with the ICB and Local Authority

The role will be responsible for developing and undertaking quality assurance of private providers of mental health services in support of placements for the Complex Care and Named Patient service. Working closely with members of this service, the CQC/HIW/CIW and a wide range of health and other professionals involved in the care and support of patients with severe and enduring, mental health needs whose care cannot be provided by local NHS services
