We are currently recruiting** Service Controllers** based at **Start Hill, Stansted** who will manage and monitor the efficient allocation and distribution of driving duties in the Traffic Office on a day today basis.

The shift pattern will be four days on and four days off working rotating hours from 06.00 to 18.00 and from 18.00 to 06.00.

**What you'll do...**
- Ensure all drivers are safe and fit to be at work at all times.
- Demonstrate effective oversight of driver performance, and continuously ensure effective management of drivers and their performance is being applied.
- Liaise and communicate with all internal departments including, Engineers, Management, Inspectors, Drivers and external services such as the Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance Services.
- Monitor the efficiency of services operated and ensure that appropriate action is taken to rectify any problems.
- Monitor and record drivers' absence and sickness, take appropriate action in respect of customer complaints, lost property along with providing customers with information about the Company range of services and products.
- Issue information to drivers e.g. wages, counselling, disciplinary or commendation letters. Keep the drivers notice board outside the Traffic office up to date.
- Record, monitor and manage any training issues that you may feel is required for a driver, by communicating with the Training Department.
- Operate and maintain computer and paperwork systems and maintain statistics and provide specific reports and ad hoc business monitoring reports in accordance with agreed timescales.
- Document any predictable and unpredictable delays and set emergency diversions as required. Log all communications with all external bodies in relation to service reliability/ disruption.
- Undertake driving duties as and when required and demonstrate flexibility in line with operational requirements.

**What you'll need...**
- Road passenger experience essential
- Experience in EU & Domestic Hours, plus competence in relevant systems ( DAS, EP Morris, Merit etc )
- Must have a PCV Licence
- First Aid, and Fire Warden trained desirable
- Working knowledge of the bus and highway network in the relevant geographical area
- Ability to think on your feet and be resilient under pressure
