Sunrise Short Breaks Unit offers overnight short break opportunities for children and young people with disabilities from the age of 5 to 18 years old.

**We have a temporary contract opportunity for a 30 hour per week Shift Leader post, for a minimum 6 month period, possibly longer, to cover Maternity Leave.** You would be required to work on a rolling 4 week rota, which includes two weekends per month and sleep-in duties.

You will be required to lead shifts and work as a member of a team providing a nurturing and safe environment which promotes the emotional and physical well-being of the children and young people accessing overnight residential short breaks.

The job requires the ability to co-ordinate shift plans, ensure accurate record keeping (quality assurance), liaise with other professionals, care planning, and provide supervision and support to staff while monitoring standards of care.

Interviews will be conducted under the ‘Choosing with Care’ assessment process.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
