**Location**:
Position available on our site in Douglas, South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

**Description**:
We are seeking an Environmental Advisor overseeing our Civil Engineering subcontract on this wind farm project who will be based full-time on our site in Douglas, South Lanarkshire.

**Core Competency Requirements**:

- 2-5 Years’ experience in an environmental advisory role within the construction industry (experience with a main contractor beneficial).
- Recognised Qualification in Environmental Management.
- Good knowledge of environmental legislation relevant to construction.
- Valid CSCS Card appropriate to seniority level.
- High standard of written and spoken English.
- Full valid driver’s licence.

**Day to Day Duties**:

- Implementing Wills Bros ISO 14001 Management System.
- Issuing ecological permits and permits to pump water in good time for work activities.
- Review and critical analysis of temporary drainage and water management design proposals
- Implementing, monitoring and maintaining site water quality management arrangements.
- Managing waste and chemical compliance requirements.
- Supporting and implementing the principal contractors CEMPs, SWMPs, and other environmental management plans and permitting procedures.
- Work closely with the principal contractor’s environmental management department in meeting their systems requirements.
- Advising site management and supervision on environmental compliance requirements.
- Attending and contributing to progress meetings and environmental meetings.
- Carrying out environmental monitoring, audits and inspections.
- Coordinating the work of environmental consultants and specialists.
- Reporting to Wills Bros EHS Manager on site-level performance.
- Investigating incidents and completing environmental incident reports.
- Coordinating the return of carbon data to the company’s Sustainability Manager.

**Desirable Attributes/Experience**:

- Qualification in Hydrology or Water Engineering very beneficial.
- Experience in water quality monitoring and silt prevention techniques.
- Ecological or ECoW Experience.
- Up-to-date Safety Critical Medical
- Experience in Carbon Monitoring and Measurement.
- Experience working on large civil engineering projects (Road construction).
- Membership of a recognised environmental body (IEMA/SocEnv/CIWEM/CIEEM or other).
- Experience working to an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
