**As a Hospital Porter, you will**:
- Be part of a close-knit professional team
- Collect and return patients to their individual rooms, before and after surgery
- Work with your colleagues to ensure that the theatre environment and its equipment are fully functioning
- Help with the cleaning of the theatre environment and equipment
- Work in a fast-moving clinical environment
- Maintain constant and effective interaction with our theatre team
**About the person and the role**
This post would involve general porter duties as well as loading and checking instruments to support our TSSU team, this involves handling instruments, preparing them to be transferred to the HSSU in Wetherby and packing sterile instruments away on their return.
This a physical role with pushing bed to lifting heavy equipment. You will be working in a fast moving clinical environment, with constant interaction with the Theatre Team.
You will need to be a good communicator with basic IT skills as working within HSSU is a computerised environment.

Overtime
For clinical roles grade 9 and below, the overtime is at a standard rate of pay. For unsocial hours, you’ll be paid an additional enhancement to your salary at the following rates: Nights Hours worked between 7pm and 7am on any day of the week, 30% of basic hourly rate. Weekends Hours worked between 7am and 7pm on a Saturday or Sunday, 20% of basic hourly rate. Bank Holidays Hours worked between midnight and midnight of a bank holiday, 100% of basic hourly rate.
