If you're looking for a role where you can make a real difference to the lives of children and young people and also join a committed team that values what you can bring to us, then look no further...
You'll be working closely with other Family Therapy colleagues in the pathway, providing extensive opportunities for development through practice and supervision. You will also work alongside other functions such as the Neurodevelopment Clinic, Outreach Service, and Eating Disorders Service (TEDS), so there's plenty of opportunities to share skills and learning. There is also regular reflective space for the team, safeguarding supervision, and dedicated complex case discussions.
We understand the importance of systemic thinking in a child and adolescent service, and systemic practices are evident across the team. We support many of the staff in developing their systemic thinking. In fact, we are a popular placement for trainee family therapists and trainee clinical psychologists.

Utilise skills for audit, policy, service development and research.

Work within other settings as required for clinical work e.g. client’s own homes, day patient, inpatient and outreach services
The post involves independent travel (driving) between all of the above sites and there may be potential risk of exposure to aggressive or unpredictable behaviour from clients and carers or family members in distress. You should be guided by the local team lone worker policy and Trust risk policy and their supervisor when undertaking visits.
On some occasions you may be required to use your own vehicle to transport clients for attendance at meetings or as part of the therapeutic process.
Your office base will be with other team members for clinical work undertaken and you will have access to support from the team secretary.
There is a need to use effective an efficient keyboard skills in the recording of clinical information and in communicating with colleagues.
Training and development is a priority and we support clinicians who want to challenge themselves and development their knowledge and skill base. Staff in the wider CAMHS teams are interested and proficient in a wide range of therapies and there is a good culture of skill sharing. All development opportunities will be considered through the PDR/Appraisal framework.
