This is an important role within the business where you will be reporting to the Head of Finance on a daily basis at the companies main offices near Redhill. The main components of this position are going to be focusing on the companies income, which willrequire you to liaise with numerous departments of the business.

**The Role**

In this Finance Officer role you will be responsible for:

- Notify the Rents Officer of all monies received into the main bank account that are for housing benefit and in relation to payments for rent from local authorities or directly from the resident.
- Post the housing receipts to the finance system based on the information sent back by the Rent Officer, ensuring they are allocated to the correct Rent Control account or balance sheet account for the property and split between rent and support.
- Cover the Rent Officer role when they are absent working
- Assist the Head of Finance with month end reporting by agreed deadlines, confirming when month end reports can be run and assist in clearing any reconciling items.
- Prepare and send out the invoices for company contracts, funding, and services on a timely basis and to carry out monthly invoice runs from Plus2 for lettings.
- Reconcile invoice payments and work with the Head of Finance to monitor and chase outstanding debts from our finance system and other systems we use.
- Work with the Management Accountant and Head of Finance with the reconciliation of housing arrears (jointly with the Rent Officer) and debtor accounts.
- Prepare debtor reports for the Head of Finance for board meeting and ensure all credit control notes are clear and easily to follow.
- Arrange monthly debtor's meetings with Head of Finance and Managers as required, recommending and debts for write off.
- Send out weekly bank receipts to administrators to update other software, e.g., Magic Bookings and post all receipts to Access Dimensions;
- Assist the head of Finance in support of funding bids and confirm receipt of funding to the fund raising team as required.
- Complete the postings to daily sales control from Plus2, download reports from Plus2 and pass on to other members of the finance team as needed. Take responsibility for ensuring the daily sales control balances to zero, following up discrepancies with othermembers of the finance team and reviewing their postings to clear these.
- Check, reconcile and record all reception receipts and process daily journals to record receipts on the accounts system.
- On a fortnightly basis be responsible for banking of cash and book in for collection.
- Cover for other members of the team during absence.
- Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Advise the Head of Finance and / or the Chair of the Finance & Resources Committee of any apparent discrepancies / irregularities in the operation of the financial systems.
- Be prepared to learn other appropriate tasks as may be required to ensure the smooth running of the Association's finances.

**Salary & Benefits**

This Finance Officer role will pay up to £24,000 per annum, as well as offer 4 Weeks Annual Leave (+ Bank) + Hybrid Working
