- ISTQB certified, preferably to Advanced Test Manager level
- Experience of direct people management including holding 1-2-1's, appraisals, setting objectives and managing personal development plans
- Extensive knowledge and experience working across all test phases including (but not limited to) functional, non-functional and UAT
- Extensive experience and understanding of testing that they can support agile delivery methods - able to demonstrate test experience working in a CI/CD delivery environment with evidence of regular high-quality automated testing being used to facilitatedeployments into varied production environments using a DevOps pipeline or planned release model.
- Familiar working with nearshore or off-shore resources in blended teams and able to address test pipeline and environment concerns whilst shaping or defining planned work in detail
- A track record of working with senior stakeholders is essential including competent presentation skills
- Familiar with security-by-design and privacy-by-design and how they relate to GDPR
- Able to hold technical discussions involving complex system setups/configurations and able to clearly articulate requirements of these systems
- Good understanding of integration layers
- A good understanding of cloud technologies and micro-service architectures - exposure and familiarity of service integration using Mulesoft or Axway would be beneficial
- Able to drive discussions around complex test environment setups and ensure the requirements of the test teams are met to ensure successful testing across all projects
- Able to plan, estimate and forecast test demand

**What will I be doing in the role?**

**The purpose of this role is to manage a team, directly and indirectly through our partners, to drive quality assurance across all of our deliverables using manual and automation test methods.**
- Embed agile delivery and testing principles in the IT & digital team
- Deliver our Digital projects into Production with fully supported test evidence and test completeness
- Ensure all testing activity is supporting CI/CD where applicable
- Drive quality and security into all of our deliverables, enabling release barriers to be removed
- Identify opportunities for process improvement
- Support the Head of Testing and Director of Application Delivery & Development to manage suppliers within agreed budgets & timescales
- Ensure all risks and issues related to quality are clearly articulated, to the right audience and at the right time in order for the release managers and the business to make informed decisions
- Work with our IT colleagues and partners to facilitate cross-department coordination of testing and release management functions
- Responsible for producing thorough and detailed test plans covering multiple deliverables, teams and dependencies
- Develop standardised automated testing strategies that support our delivery goals and allow us to go faster
- Lead technical planning sessions and be able to show junior members of the team how the implementation of an Agile user story should be planned
- Participate in the design, verification, testing, documentation, amend and refactor of complex software requirements
