We are currently seeking a dedicated Counter Assistant and Ware-houseman to join our team in a busy warehouse environment. The role involves handling various tasks related to counter operations and assisting with warehouse activities.
- **Responsibilities**:

- Accurately collect products from stock area.
- Take payment for goods using computerised till system.
- Handling money and cashing up.
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new customers to optimise quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
- Help plan and arrange customer deliveries with other staff.
- Maintain a computerised stock system. Monitor stock levels and place orders with suppliers to maintain sufficient inventory.
- Carry out direct sales activities such as telephoning new and existing customers to inform them of special offers.
- Help manage costs and overheads, and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the shop.
- Receipt of stock deliveries, checking quantity and condition, and storing in warehouse.
- Picking stock for customers and assisting in the loading of materials onto their vehicle.
- Develop relationships with customers by providing a friendly and helpful service at all times.
- Maintain accurate records and carry out regular stock take activities
- Use of fork lifts truck to handle stock.
- Responsible for ensuring forklift truck safety checks are completed.
- Responsibility for tidiness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
- Carry out stock handling in such manner as to minimise waste and damaged stock.
- Occasional local van deliveries to our customers.
- Help manage upkeep and condition of all equipment, fixtures and fabric of shop premises. Includes some general cleaning duties.
- Help manage health and safety, security, and emergency systems according to company policy and relevant law.
- To undertake additional duties as required, commensurate with the level of the job.

**Qualifications**:

- Essential:_

1. Previous experience in a trade counter, warehouse or similar environment.

2. Open and friendly, able to chat easily with customers. Good telephone manner.

3. Self-motivated with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profit.

4. Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Desirable:_

6. Forward-planner who uses own initiative to take action and correct issues before they impact the business.

7. Keen for new experience and responsibility.

Wage will depend on experience and age.

Pay: Up to £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
