**Department**
Contracts and Settlements is one of several support functions that enable EDF Trading to tightly control its commercial activities and process a large number of transactions with a wide variety of counterparts.
The department acts as an enabler for the commercial side of the business whilst ensuring effective processes and controls are in place to mitigate operational risk and potential loss whether financial (actual or lost opportunity) or reputational.
**Position purpose**
The primary purpose of the ETD Supervisor role is to ensure that all exchange related activity such as the margin call process, reconciliation of the derivative trades and positions and the monitoring and control around the OTC complex transactions that EDFT undertakes is managed in a controlled and accurate manner in line with the business transaction procedures.
**Responsibilities**
Team Responsibilities
- Process derivative transactions through to completion within the performance standards set out in the business transaction procedures.
- To reconcile and report on all Profit Centre and derivative specific records within the set performance standards. Actively monitoring and clearing all open exceptions within set timeframes.
- To provide management information statistics in accordance with departmental requirements.
- To monitor and review all derivative specific standing data ensuring that all products are correctly defined and that fees applied to derivatives based systems are accurate and correct.
- To monitor and review all derivative processes as to suggest enhancements to current procedures, controls and contingencies.
- Ensure that all clearing and execution fees are validated and processed in a timely manner.
- To control and maintain all Trader access to 3rd party Exchange platforms and Broker connections within Trayport.
In addition, look to support the activities of the Structured derivatives desk, dealing mainly with OTC Structured Options. To include the below;
- Ensure all derivative deals are correctly captured in core systems and the deal booking accurately reflects the terms.
- Ensure all option deals are correctly exercised within required timeframes.
- Ensure all counterparty reporting requirements are being adhered to.
- Develop and implement business processes and controls to support the operational management of derivative deals.
- Maintain reconciliations between multiple core systems where appropriate.
- Assist with the UAT testing and deployment of new system releases.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Daily supervision of the team, task allocation and completion.
- Objective setting and performance management of all team members.
- Coaching and development of all team members.
- Production & analysis of relevant MIS for team management.
- Evaluate current operational processes to identify gaps and to streamline & automate current processes.
- Liaise and maintain relevant relationships with key external & internal contacts, including: Front Office, Operations, IT etc.
**Experience required**
Ideally, prior experience of leading a team in a Trade Support / Operations function with a proven track record of engaging and developing team members.
Experience of working with trading counterparties and Front Office, including direct contact with trading desks.
