**Brief**

Solutions Architect needed to join an industry leading aerospace organization who provide specialist solutions and systems for each branch of the armed forces (air, sea, land). As a Solutions Architect, you will work closely with both the Capture & Deliveryand Engineering teams to ensure alignment whilst providing technical vision and strategy to our client's bids and proposals for maritime. Day to day you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the future programmes have a robust and sustainable solutionapproach.

It's desirable for the successful Solutions Architect to be degree qualified in and Engineering or Science discipline and possess relevant experience within defence, maritime, aerospace, or a similarly regulated industrial sector.

**Responsibilities of the Solutions Architect**:

- Define features, phases and solution requirements.
- Identifying the most appropriate technical solution to solve present and future capability needs.
- Undertake architecture cost/benefit trade off studies across the spectrum of available solution options.
- To be the Solution Lead during governance reviews both internally and externally facing.
- Provide technical Systems Engineering and Project Management inputs to contribute to planning, scheduling and cost control/monitoring activities.
- Formulate the strategic technical vision of the solution by exploiting knowledge of available technologies.
- Drive the decision-making processes for exceptional activities or circumstances and deviations.
- Conduct periodic self-assessment, review and audit of design standards, methods, competencies and processes & procedures in the quality system.
- Attend departmental/strategic meetings as required.
- Support the Head of Department in developing and growing a professional and engaged team.

**Experience needed to be the successfulSolutions Architect**:

- Degree-qualified in an Engineering or Science discipline or equivalent underpinning knowledge and understanding.
- Relevant experience within defence, maritime, aerospace, or a similarly regulated industrial sector.
- Proven track record of delivering complex systems such as COTS components, e.g. PLCs, SCADA systems, industrial networks.
- Experience of Architecture Framework approaches, such as MODAF and UAF.
- Experience of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience in use of Enterprise Architecture or System Modelling toolsets, such as MOOD and Cameo.
