Job Title: Accounting Assistant

**Duties**:

- Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including recording journal entries and maintaining financial records.
- Utilize mathematical skills to accurately perform calculations and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Conduct account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of balances and identify any discrepancies.
- Demonstrate financial acumen by analyzing financial statements and providing insights on trends and variances.
- Utilize 10-key typing skills to efficiently input numerical data into accounting systems.
- Assist with payroll management, including processing employee timesheets and calculating wages.
- Conduct account analysis to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in accounting or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in math, with the ability to perform calculations accurately and efficiently.
- Familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in using accounting software and other financial tools.
- Ability to analyze financial statements and provide insights on trends and variances.
- 10-key typing skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of payroll management processes and procedures.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Performance bonus
- Quarterly bonus
- Yearly bonus

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Helston: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Accounting: 1 year (required)
