Our client a boutique firm of accountants, seek a management accountant to provide a 1st class service to their clients in their outsourcing team.

You will undertake a wide variety of accounting assignments, including VAT and corporation tax return preparation, to a high standard of technical competence, delivered with a good degree of autonomy, and within budget and client expectations.
- Provide accounting and corporation tax services to clients accurately and to budget and time deadlines
- Undertake efficient and accurate bookkeeping in respect of client’s accounting records.
- Prepare client’s VAT returns with a high level of technical understanding and ensure deadlines are met.
- Prepare client’s management accounts including relating working papers to a high degree of accuracy with a view meeting monthly/quarterly deadlines.
- Collating client’s accounting records.
- Posting client’s accounting transactions into accounting software.
- Reviewing transactions to confirm their VAT treatment.
- Preparing VAT returns and related workings.
- Preparing management accounts and financial statements working papers to evidence accurate financial results.
- Preparing financial statements under Financial Reporting Standards and UK GAAP.
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns and entries.
- Provide technical support to clients when required.

Skills required:

- Proficient with Xero accounting software
- Experience using Sage, Quickbooks, CCH preferred
- Proven experience preparing monthly/quarterly management accounts and supporting schedules with high level of detail.
- Advanced VAT knowledge including partial exemption, land & property, imports, foreign transactions etc.
- Proven bookkeeping experience and good client services skillset.
- Good awareness of other aspects of OMB taxation (corporation tax, employment and personal taxes)
- Exceptional level of personal organisation, and a proven ability to manage own time and deadlines
- Exceptional technical competence and experience
- Demonstrate strong analytical and logical skills
- Technically up to date with awareness of relevant legislation
- Unquestionable integrity, with excellent communication skills and a flexible, adaptable and committed attitude
- Ability to work well within a highly professional team environment.
- Robust IT skills
- Able to cope with pressure
