Are you passionate about ensuring the well-being and rights of children in the care system? We are seeking an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) for Children's Social Care who will play a pivotal role in overseeing the care plans of children and advocating for their best interests.
**Key Responsibilities**:As an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO), your role will encompass a range of essential responsibilities, including:
- Acting as an impartial and independent chairperson in Looked After Reviews, Child Protection Conferences, and other relevant meetings.
- Ensuring that each child's care plan is comprehensive, well-informed, and tailored to their specific needs.
- Advocating for the child's wishes and feelings to be given due consideration in all decision-making processes.
- Collaborating with social workers, families, and professionals to facilitate effective communication and the development of high-quality care plans.
- Safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children in care.
**Qualifications and Experience**:To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A background in social work, child protection, or a related field.
- Relevant qualifications and certifications in child welfare or similar disciplines.
- Previous experience as an Independent Reviewing Officer or in a similar child welfare role.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with children, families, and professionals.
- A strong commitment to child welfare and advocating for the rights of children.
