**Main duties of the job**

To ensure all correspondence is entered onto patients medical records and that clinical documents are summarised. The post-holder will be responsible for providing effective and efficient administrative support to the doctors and other professional staff.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

**ADMINISTRATION - CORRESPONDENCE**
- Handle appropriate incoming and outgoing, internal and external mail and action accordingly when required.
- Liaise with patients, hospitals, Social Services, Health Authority and other outside agencies.
- Identify potential problems and deficiencies of the computer system.
- Have working knowledge of telephone system and other related equipment.
- Scan all correspondence onto patients medical records when required.
- Possess an excellent telephone manner.
- Summarise and code all relevant incoming correspondence and new patients medical records.
- Follow practice guidelines and procedures whilst using Practice software such as Emis and Docman.
- Provide secretarial cover when required.
- Photocopying, facsimile and filing duties.
- Update and file relevant documentation appropriately in medical records
- Maintain and update appropriate recording systems.

Working Hours - 24 hours

Monday - Wednesday 9.00 - 17.30 - flexible

30 minute lunch break

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: From £11.00 per hour
