The client, is an established and mission-led membership organisation that exists to support members in delivering world class education.

They are currently looking to recruit a **Part Time, Public Relations and Public Affairs Manager** for a 2 year Fixed term contract

Working 17.5 hours per week, you will be responsible for promoting the UK's business and management education sector, helping to shape policy and create media opportunities through dialogue with businesses, government and the media.

You will take the lead on the creation and implementation of public affairs strategies and campaigns that help secure policy and regulatory changes, which are in the best interests of both members and the wider society.

The role also requires someone to lead engagement with the media (national, regional, local, trade and social) on a proactive and reactive basis, to secure positive media coverage that improves awareness and understanding of members' views, recommendations,and raises awareness of the impact they have on business and society.

This is a part time, 2 year fixed term contract, paying up to £45k (pro rata), plus will require you to work in office 2 days a week from their St Pauls location.

**Responsibilities**:

- Produce communications materials such as press releases, articles, video and social media content
- Lead development of UK media thought - leadership campaigns
- Plan and deliver timely and comprehensive reactive media responses and materials
- Build strong relationships with journalists and stakeholders at national, trade, regional and local levels in order to influence media coverage
- Provide trusted communications counsel and advice to senior management and members, helping them to maximise positive media coverage
- Devise and implement relevant public affairs campaigns as well as developing and implementing proactive and reactive public affairs executions in support of organisational objectives
- Engage with relevant internal and external contacts/stakeholders in relation to public affairs campaigns -including any relevant organisations from think tanks and academia to politicians and civil servants

**The Person**:

- Previous public affairs and/or public policy experience
- Previous public relations/media relations experience
- Experience of working with or for associations, professional bodies, or membership organisations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills.
