**Job Description**:
Brakes are currently recruiting for a Catering, Supplies & Equipment Buyer to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis, reporting to the Head of Buying. Our role is offering hybrid working, with 2 days on site in the Ashford, Kent office per week, so you must be within a commutable distance.

The CSE Buyer’s role is integral to delivering a customer focussed range. The individual is responsible for ensuring we source products effectively, drive profitability and manage suppliers and partner relations within the merchandising function.

We are looking for someone who excels in delivering cost saving strategies through driving change and proactively looking to find solutions. The role will involve controlling the cost of goods, (ensuring we source responsibly and support our CSR credentials), whilst managing terms and business planning effectively with our supplier base, including Sysco & European buying alliance partnerships.
- Overall gross cash profit of UK business & delivery of category buying income targets and cash margin growth, linking with Brakes Catering Equipment Team.
- Delivery of the category management process to achieve defined category growth targets with a specific responsibility for the sourcing element of the process.
- Control cost of goods and manage terms and business planning effectively with our supplier base, including our Sysco & European buying alliance partnerships.
- Support the management of quality and availability with our suppliers.
- Manage relations, engagement and partnerships across the supplier base.
- To source the most cost effective new and existing products that meet the needs of our customers total category & procurement KPIs.
- To successfully negotiate, manage and complete contract negotiations delivering cost and operational efficiency.
- To manage your supplier base, negotiating terms, developing joint business plans & delivering improved profitability, product and service levels.
- To work cross-functionally with our category, technical, pricing, finance & supply chain teams to deliver products that meets all quality and service level KPIs & customer needs.
- Support the strategic evolution of the annual category strategy plan with the rest of the category merchandising plan.
- To ensure products are sourced responsibly throughout the supply chain and to work accordingly on delivery our CSR credentials and policies of the business.
- Support improved overall customer NPS scores & in particular those related to product and price.
