Job Purpose

Leading two small teams both in the town centre and throughout the borough. The role will involve day to day supervision and coordinating the work between the teams and also links with the biodiversity section on green infrastructure projects. Providing a presence in the town centre, challenging waste arrangements, bin storage, duty of care etc. Improving and raising standards and maintaining public realm improvements such as the new bus station. Organizing events such as cigarette waste awareness, dog fouling hit days, public participation. Satisfaction surveys.

Liaise with Businesses to ensure that they are aware of their duty of care and gather information to help enforce the Environmental Protection Act. Contribute to making the town centre a better cleaner place by challenging current practices and finding solutions to waste and cleansing issues in the town centre.

The post holder will liaise with various partners ie. South Wales Police, Regeneration Dept, Public Health, the Business Improvement District, Public Safety, Keep Wales Tidy, Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Trust, Waste Services, Parks Dept and Highways.

Operating hours are Monday to Thursday 7.00am - 3.00pm; and Friday 7.00am - 2.30pm. The Post holder may be required to work Saturdays & Sundays when required.
