Employability Solutions is a social enterprise working across Liverpool and West Yorkshire delivering alternative community education to both secondary school-aged children and adults through a range of different programmes. As a social enterprise we reinvest all profits back into the work we do with students and one element of this is catering. We aim to provide all students with healthy, nutritious, home-cooked lunches as well as a breakfast club each morning in ‘CanTeen’.

**The role**
The main purpose of the role will be to provide support in delivering a full catering service following the ‘School Food Plan’ guidelines.

The Canteen Manager will be expected to work towards supporting the Canteen with H&S and Environmental Health guidelines, for example, learning how to complete mandatory checks including filling out Safer Food Better Business (SFBB) paperwork daily and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and personal hygiene

**Duties will include**:

- Helping to deliver a food service to students on time and to a high quality.
- Contributing to menu ideas.
- Shopping for basic items
- Stock rotation and ensuring proper storage of food is followed.
- Being involved in themed days or events. (Occasionally events may take place at evenings or weekends such as open days, so a degree of flexibility is required with notice).
- Providing refreshments for meetings / visitors to the centre.
- Looking after equipment and report any broken items to your line manager.
- Following company policies and procedures.
- Ensuring personal appearance is well-groomed at all times.
- Attending training courses, meetings, team briefings or inset days as and when required

**General**:

- Commitment to your own personal and continuous professional development.
- Undertake any other duties that may be required commensurate with the scale and function of the post.
- Work within the school’s health and safety policy to ensure a safe working environment for staff, students and staff.
- Support and contribute to the school responsibility for safeguarding students.
