The post holders will be expected to work as part of a team in the Phlebotomy Department based at New Cross Hospital. They will be required to carry out phlebotomy duties in various Clinics/Wards across New Cross Hospital. The phlebotomist will be expected to respond positively to the changing demands of the service. The main purpose of this post is to undertake general phlebotomy duties.

**3 Posts in total**:
3x 20 hours per week (clinics)

Average 4 hour shift between 08.00 -18.00 Monday - Friday with possible weekend rotation.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our busy Phlebotomy team at New Cross Hospital. Duties will cover wards or clinics.

Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the service. Participation in Bank/Statutory holiday is a requirement of this post

Phlebotomy duties include taking blood samples from patients, labelling tubes, and the transportation of samples to Pathology.

To obtain blood specimens by venepuncture from all patients who require blood analysis on the written/ electronic request of an appropriate medical clinician.

To provide an efficient, quality and cost effective service.

To assist the medical, clerical and technical staff of the Directorate.

Work without direct supervision when working on the ward.

Adhere to The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust policies.

Provide statistical information on a routine basis.

Complete all relevant paperwork

Maintain stock levels in bleeding areas.
