Our returning client is seeking a hands-on, self-motivated and experienced Housekeeper with high attention to detail and personable demeanour.

The property is an exclusive, commercially-let eleven-bedroom country house near Basingstoke, North Hampshire.

The Housekeeper will be working in a small team and will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and care of the property; ensuring the house is prepared to a high standard when guests arrive.

You must have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of cleaning products and materials, and should be proficient in caring for antique furniture, fixtures and silverware.

When the property is not occupied with guests, the Housekeeper should be pro-active and well organised in completing their daily duties.

The Housekeeper will be expected to assist the House Manager with the training of part-time/seasonal staff in preparation for guest stays, and must be able to guide casual staff during a guest stay.

Although this position will require a baseline five-day week, you should be prepared to work longer hours and some weekends when guests are in residence.

**General Duties include**:

- Ensuring the property is kept to a high level of cleanliness and tidiness
- Managing the in-house and guest laundry, including ironing
- Dealing with tradesmen and overseeing their work where necessary
- Caring for antiques and silverware
- Assisting the House Manager with staff training and staff rotas Occasional Front of House duties
- Flower arranging
- Ordering and stock retention of housekeeping supplies
- Be able to work under pressure and adhere to time constraints
- Display a polite and professional attitude to guests and colleagues
- Have a displayable background in similar positions
- Have a high attention to detail
- Have an excellent work ethic
- Be flexible to work on evenings and over weekends during times of guest residence, if requested by the House Manager
- Have use of a car

**Working Days/Hours: Monday to Friday with flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required (time off in lieu); 8.30- 5pm ordinarily and longer hours as required**

**Start Date: ASAP**

**Accommodation**:1 bedroom apartment on the Estate close to nearest town. No pets.

**Salary: £30,000 live in; negotiable for live out**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00 per year
